Engineering Manager & Sr. Full Stack Engineer / 2022 – Present
As an engineering manager, I've consecutively led three engineering teams (mobile, a greenfield portfolio product, then Studio), up to 12 engineers at peak and two teams at once for a period. That meant coaching, setting engineering strategy, and holding the bar on engineering practices, while staying hands on across frontend, backend, and BI (anywhere from 20% to 80% of my time, depending on the needs of the team). I worked on introducing an empowered engineering culture on a new full-stack team, with trunk-based development and small, continuously shipped changes. Later, we spread the model more broadly, and I kept optimizing teams to ship faster and more reliably.
My teams at Glassnode owned the Studio, data visualization, information architecture, billing, public APIs access, permissions, payments, and content pages. Few highlights out of many. A server-side-rendering migration that more than halved the homepage load time and enabled new products (e.g. Market Compass) to be released in a single day. A homepage rebuild that got ~6x more visitors into the product (from 5% to 31% of arrivals). An in-house AI agent platform that lets non-technical people safely ship to production with zero side effects (limited access & robust harness). More projects: global search, payments migrations, performance and UX improvements, internal AI tooling and external AI chat, direct customer eng. support, etc.
Currently, I'm designing Studio's information-architecture overhaul end-to-end, from concept and user-feedback sessions through to the final solution.
